General counsellor summer camp positions in the USA

Work as a general counsellor on BUNAC’s Summer Camp USA programme – the leading US work and travel experience! Spend nine weeks working with kids aged between 6 and 16 on an American summer camp.

General counsellors work directly with groups of children ensuring their daily schedule is adhered to and that children have fun! A very important role at any camp, general counsellors make sure campers get to their activities on time, participate enthusiastically and help to resolve any issues that may arise during the day. You will travel to each activity period, participating with the children and helping to run the activity if necessary.

After camp, take advantage of the additional 30 days to travel around the USA, Canada and Mexico. Visit beautiful natural landmarks such as the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park and Niagara Falls, and experience world-class cities including New York, Chicago and San Francisco, to name only a few.

Requirements

BUNAC individually places applicants on summer camps according to their preferences, skills and experience. For the role of general counsellor, applicants should be energetic and highly enthusiastic with experience of working with children in a leadership position. Applicants must also be aged 18 or above.
