Job Description

Work as a sailing instructor on BUNAC’s Summer Camp USA programme – the leading US work and travel experience! Spend nine weeks working with kids aged between 6 and 16 on an American summer camp.

Sailing instructors develop and enhance children’s confidence, skill and proficiency in sailing over the summer. Sailing activities can vary between camps from teaching basic skills in the shallows of a small lake, to going on longer day sails on the local lake or in the ocean. Sailing equipment at camp can range from a couple of small one-man boats for beginners to four-man catamarans and boats for advanced sailors.

After camp, take advantage of the additional 30 days to travel around the USA, Canada and Mexico. Visit beautiful natural landmarks such as the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park and Niagara Falls, and experience world-class cities including New York, Chicago and San Francisco, to name only a few.

Experience Required

BUNAC individually places applicants on summer camps according to their preferences, skills and experience. For the role of sailing instructor, applicants should be energetic and highly enthusiastic about sailing with experience of working with children in a leadership position. Applicants must also be aged 18 or above.
