Each summer 275 girls join together to experience the Matoaka Magic. An even blend of adventure, spirit, friendship and fun.

Matoaka's program is tailored to fit the individual, allowing each camper to progress at her own skill level. The ultimate goal is preparing each camper for a richer and fuller adult life through the use of leisure sports and creative talents.

Camp Matoaka encourages adventuresome and challenging activities that involve campers and counselors in meaningful experiences that promote the integration of physical and cognitive skills to solve outside challenges while regarding the safety of all participating.

Camp Matoaka is a private, girls, 7 week residential summer camp in ME. Situated on over 150 acres of flat grassy playing fields, woodlands and lakefront, Matoaka's facility is top notch. More important than a great facility, Matoaka has a family type atmosphere and is often described as being fun, spirited, warm and caring.

Campers range in age from 7-15 and come from across the country. A majority of our campers as well as many staff return each summer to a place they call 'home'.

Costs / Pay

Staff Salaries are competitive. Also includes Room/Board/3-4 nights off a week/7 days off throughout duration of summer/free internet access/free laundry service

Each summer we hire 120 staff to come spend their summer in ME. All of our staff specialize and are well qualified in one or more activities listed below. We also have opportunities for pre and post season work.

We select highly skilled staff who have experience working with children and are at least 19 years of age.

Performing Arts (Dance, Drama), Arts and Crafts (Sewing, Ceramics) Land Sports Instructors (lacrosse, field hockey, archery, softball, soccer, basketball, volleyball), Water Front Jobs(Swim, Small Crafts, Boating, Sailing, Water Ski), Video Production, Radio Broadcasting, Photography (black & white and Digital), Ropes (High and Low), Gymnastics, Health, Office Staff, Trip Leaders (21+)
